Kulekhani is a beautiful and panoramic landscape situated in
Makwanpur district. Kulekhani is mainly famous for fishing, hiking, trekking
and boating. Hence, Kulekhani has a great prospect of adventure tourismThe
Kulekhani Hydropower system is located in the Middle Mountain Zone of
Makawanpur District. The main dam and the power house are located at about 21
km and 30 km southwest of the capital Kathmandu respectively. Kulekhani is so
peace and the dam water reservoir adds beauty to the area. Markhu is a small
village where you can view the beautiful dam pond clearly and of course you can
take picture from there. Its famous for boating and fishing.
Fish farming in Indra Sarovar also known as Kulekhani lake in
Markhu, Makwanpur. Indra Sarovar is the largest manmade lake constructed at the
deep Gorge between Markhu and Kulekhani VDC by the Kulekhani hydro project.
This is one and only hydro project based on reserve system in Nepal. Several
rivers are blocked to make this 7km long lake that is famous for fishery and
this lake itself is famous for fresh water fish like trouts.
